Sunday 30th March Marlow Festival

Wasps fielded 2 teams at the Marlow Festival.  By all accounts it was tough going for the players but both teams were rewarded in their final games with excellent victories.  Special mentions to Magnus Lewis for his play in the Cubans and Tom Patterson's try scoring efforts for the Bucs

Sunday 9th March Middlesex Festival

Congratulations to all players who took part in the Middlesex Festival (thank goodness it wasn't on the Monday).

Francois's Fearsome Spartans fared the best of all three teams just missing out on a place in the final with 2 wins, 1 draw & 1 loss.  Sam Heslin top try scorer.

The Buccaneers had a tough pool against London Welsh A & Saracens A and had a near miss against an Ealing team in their Plate quarter final.

The Cubans got off to a disappointing start against a Twickenham & Bank of England team we had both beaten earlier in the Season losing each match 2-1.  In the Quarter final of the Plate we were held to a 1-1 draw by Teddington and failed to advance on count back.

Sunday 3rd Febuary v Stanford

Well it was a long way, right round the North Circular and out the A13, but only an hour door to door.  Thanks to the brave contingent of 20 Wasps FC players who made the effort and braved the rather cold and blustery but bright conditions on the edge of the Thames Estuary.

We managed to field 2 full teams and play 3 games.   They grow them big out east!  to say we were bowled over by their first teams bulk was an understatement.   We didn't get in low and make our tackles and as a result they ran through us.
A disappoint loss in the first game with the score lost in the marshes.

Second match was a much more encouraging affair with a scratch team competing strongly right up to the final whistle, special mention must go to joint Man of the Match Haydn Popper & George BridgewaterMagnus Lewis also goes from strength to strength with Gev claiming our try, end score as disappointing loss 1-2

The third match saw all 20 Players taking the field one half each.  We seemed to have woken up in the first half with Ben White, Sam Turton and Jae Kim battling earnestly in the forwards.  Notable tackling in the second half from Sam Heslin, Tom Phellps and John Garner

Whilst the result may not show it those that made the trip were rewarded with a good mornings rugby and a warm and comfortable clubhouse afterwards

Sunday 27th January v London Scottish

Details are vague but my spies tellme Wasps field 2 full teams and a barbarians side.  A warm sunny Sunday with lots of running rubgy, "we won most of our matches, and everybody enjoyed it"  seems to be the gist.   Magnus and Harley enjoyed getting one over on Classmates and ex team mates.
