  Wasps U14's  14 - 17  Wallingford U14's

Wallingford came to Twyford Avenue for a friendly match. But due to injuries their squad was depleted, arriving with
 only 13 players.

The intention was to play 4 sets of 20 minutes to allow all the Wasps players a good amount of pitch time, but after
the 3rd set it was decided that was enough for the Wallingford guys.

For every period Wasps provided a lock and a winger from the bench to complete Wallingford's team. As with all
friendlies, it was a great opportunity to watch the whole squad play through rotating every new session. Players were
even sent out into different positions, and there were some very exciting results and many strong

individual performances. Friendlies are important for trying out new ideas, and it was successful with some excellent
 rugby played by both teams.
Special mention has to go the Wasps players who crossed over to the opposition. They played with as much enthusiasm
as if they were playing for Wasps, and they received a great deal of praise from the Wallingford players and coaches
for their commitment and attitude. It is what friendlies are all about!

The final score was Wasps 14 Wallingford 17.

 London Welsh U14's  13 - 31 Wasps U14's

After a disappointing start to the Club League season, the U14's went to London Welsh. From the start the Wasps guys showed their attacking strength, and with superb work by the forwards in the scrum and at the breakdowns the backs were given the opportunity to show their pace and strength and by half time we had secured a 4 try bonus point having conceded just one try.

The second half continued very much like the first with Wasps dominating the game. The final score was London Welsh 13  Wasps 31. Although the U14 backs enjoyed the majority of possession it has to be said that the 'unsung heroes' were without doubt the forwards who created havoc throughout the game with powerful scrummaging and turnover at the breakdowns.

A good and encouraging win.

 London Scottish U14's  25 - 36 Wasps U14's

Wasps U14's secured their 2nd consecutive victory against D2 opposition.

Following their decisive win over Teddington, the U14's travelled to London Scottish yesterday.

As it was a friendly it was decided to break the game into 3x 20 minutes sessions to allow all players to be rotated and given pitch time.

The first session was difficult as a few early injuries reduced the effectiveness of the squad against the strong opposition. But the 2nd session produced a spirited display where the 14's carved their way through the Scottish defence and reduced the try deficit to 0, and with successful conversions took the lead.

The final 3rd saw Wasps take advantage of the L.S mistakes and run in a further 3 tries 2 of which were converted.

To have come away with a victory by 11 points against a strong side in a division above was a great result which reflected the quality of teamwork from every player.
