Sunday 11th November Wasps v Ealing v Farnham

It looked like being a dismal morning with the heavens opening about 0930.   However the clouds rolled back to give way to an excellent bright sunny morning for Rugby.

Wasps played host to 2 strong visiting clubs, Ealing & Farnham.   Well disciplined and well organised the visitors taught us a lesson or 2.  We fielded 3 teams with 37 players getting match time for the biggest test of the season so far.

Cubans

The Cubans played first of all against Ealing.   Strong driving in the scrums, and support in the open along with some excellent rucking taught the Cubans some tough lessons.  In the end we lost 5-0.

The second Cubans match versus Farnham was a much more keenly contested affair with an excellent individual try by Zak Wilkinson.   However Farnham held on for a 3-1 victory

Buccaneers

Special mentions to David Ambler and Hippolyte Astolfi for tremendous charging play.   The team got off to a bad start against a strong Ealing second string losing 7-1 before they rallied and came close v Farnham

Spartans

Faired the best of the 3 teams narrowly losing to Farnham team 4 tries to 5 before drawing with Ealing 1-1.    Conner Gilmartin really starting to understand the game at scrum half shared with George Bridgewater

A good mornings rugby, albeit with some disappointing results.  The U10's have some tough choices ahead if they are to compete at this level.  More focus & concentration during training will be required as the players certainly have the talent within them.
